Wedding In St. Peter's. Tho marriage took place, in St. Peter's Church, Wellington, on Tuesday, September 16, of Miss E. Harris to Mr. B. Roberts, botli of Gravcscnd, Kent (England). The brido wore a gown of cream taffetas silk trimmed with silk lace and insertion, and a voil with orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white liarcissi. Hor bridesmaids were Miss Ida Neal and Miss Nancy Lancett, who both wore white embroidered frocks and white Tagel hats trimmed with white silk ribbon and pink roses. They carried bouquets of pmli hyacinths and camelliaß. The reception was held at tho residence of the Bride and bridegroom.

Wedding in St. John'u, A protty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday afternoon in St. John's Church by the Rev. Dr. Gibb, when Miss Wilholmina Pearston was married to Mr. John M'Gil(fog, of Christchurch. Tho brido was given away by Mr. Herbert Bristor (brotho'r-in-law), and woro a gown of white silk with overdress of striped tulle, and roil with orange blossoms. Sho carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Tho bridesmaids were Miss Elsie and Miss Violet M'Donald, nieces of tho bride, who woro in protty frocks of apricot charmeuso and palo bluo poplin do chine respectively, with Juliet caps, and carried pretty bouquets. Mrs. H. Brister, the bride's sister, wore a costume of pale cinnamoncoloured moire silk, and hat with long white ostrich plumes. Mrs. M. Guffog, mothor of tho bridegroom, woro a navy blue tailored costume, and a black and whito toque. Mr. R. M'Gnffog was tho best man, and Mr. T. Shearer tho groomsman. Tho bridegroom's present to the brido was a handsome gold bracelet, sot with emeralds and rubies, and to tho bridesmaids wero given plain gold bangles, with their names engraved upon thorn. The bride's present to tho was a' sot "of gold sleeve links. After tho'ceremony 'a reception was hold at the residence of Mrs. H. Bristor (sister of tlio brido). Tlio travelling dress was of saxe blue whipcord, with a whito Tagel hat trimmed with feathers. Tho future homo of the brido. and bridegroom will be in Christchurch.

Anniversary Celebration. Tlie Wellington District W.C.T.U. celebrated the twentieth anniversary of "Francliise Day" by a special afternoon meeting in tho Constable Street rooms. Mrs. Peryman presided, find there was a largo attendance. Mrs. Spearman read a comprehensive report of tho District Convention, held at Petono, for which she received a very hearty vote of thanks. In tli© absence of tho secretary, Mrs.Houlder read Mrs. Bendely's paper, "Work for the Enfranchised." One now member was elected, and afternoon tea brought a pleasant meeting to a close. •

A bazaar is to be opened in tho Girls' College. Pipitea Street, this afternoon at 2.30, by Mrs. J. r. Luke. Tho function (lias boon organised by tilie Christian Union of the college in aid of I'andita Hamabai's Mission for Indian Widows. Iu addition to fancy, jumble produce, sweets,. and refreslimorit stalls, fish pond and bran-tub, a feature of tho bazaar will bo a varied display of Indian goods. Included in tho amusements are concerts arranged by tho Old Girls' Association and moving pictures. Admission is free, .and it is hoped that the college girls will be heartily supported by tho publio.

Miss Julio Bevnn, of Manakau, and Dr. and Mrs. Adams, of Foxton, illtend leaving on a visit. to' England. Tlioy will bo some titae away, as > they purposo travelling out the Continent. Miss Bevan leaves about tho middle of November for Sydney.

Wedding at Auckland. At St. Paul's, Symond's Street, Auckland, on Thursday, September 4, tho marriago took placo of Miss Mabel Evelyn Potter, eldest daughter of Mr. G. Potter, Bonvick Estate, Mauurew, Auckland, and Mr. Frederick G. Lennard, eldest son of Mr. A. 0. Lennard, Wanganui. The Rev. A. B. T. Watson, 11.A., performed tho ceremony. Tha brido, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Arthur Potter, of Auckland, woro a gown of whito satin caught up at tho sides with sprays of orange blossoms. Tho corsage was of white crepo chiffon, draped over an underbodice of old lace, and a panel of laca drapod tho skirt. Her veil was fastened with a coronet of orango blossoms, and sho wore h<y gift from tho bridegroom, a pearl pendant and necklace inset with piuk tourmalines. Tho bridal bouquet was of whito sweet peas, freosias, and roses. Sho was attended by four brides-, maids, tho two chief being Miss Sophio Potter (sisters) and Miss of Mauku. They wore Ivory guipure gowns darped over chiffon taffetas, and black picture hats, and carried shower bouquets of palo pink swoet peas, fastened with pale pink streamers. The two younger bridesmaids wore pretty cream silk ffiocks and Juliet caps of Carrickenacross lace. They carried an arch of smilnx maidenhair fern, and snowdrops. Tho small page boy who was also in attendance was in a white satin court suit and buckle shoes. 'Tho bridegroom's presents to tho bridesmaids were gold pendant and brooches insot with rubies, and to tho page was given a gold tie-pin. Mr. Guy Lennard (Wellington) was best man, and Mr. Harold Potter, groomsman. After the ceromony tho guests (liotored to Buchanan's, Karangalmpo Road, where a reception was hold by Mr. and Mrs. G. Potter. Later, tho brido and bridegroom left by motor-car en route for Tp.umarunui and the _ Wanganui River. Poison, and Misß Mclutvre, and songs from Mrs. Wall, Misseß ■\Vood (2), and Mrs. Chambers had been provided. Mrs. Mackenzie, also Mrs. and Miss Comyns played the accompaniments. During the evening Mrs, D. U. Poison, vice-president, gavo an address upon tho "Dignity of Labour, and pointed out tho many advantages individually, and to a nation, of honest work. Mr. Gilbert Carson followed with' mi interesting speocli dealing with tho methods of tho Houso and politics tamorally. Both were applauded. Two competitions whioh caused a good deal of amusement wero, held._ Tho pmo winners wero Mrs. Godwin and Mi's. Bethel. Supper was liandcd round by, tho members to their guests.
