THE LAND BILL.
Good progress is being made upon the Land Bill by tho Lands Committee of tho House of Representatives to which tho Bill was referred last week. Fortyfour clauses of tho Bill havo already been passed by tho Commibteo, including tho important clause enabling tenants of settlement lands to acquire tho freehold. It is expected that two moro sittings, at the outside, will enable the Committee to complete its consideration of tho Bill.
