CORPORATION STAFF CLUB.
ANNUAL REPORT. The third annual report and statement of receipts and payments for the year ending July 31, 1913, of tho City Corporation Staff Club, states that tho various social functions organised during the year were most successful. Congratulations are extended to Mr. J. P. Luke on his election to the Mayoralty, and to Messrs. Buddie, Hjslop, Luckie, Thompson, and Wright on their election as councillors.
The committee trust tlieso gentlemen will accept the positions of president and vice-presidents respectively as provided for in tho rules.
It is now over two years since the club approached the council regarding the provision of a club-room, and received a' favourable reply, but nothing has vet been dono. Now, however, from his Worship the Mayor, tho committee have assurance that when the loan proposals for various works, including additions to the Town Hall (which are shortly to come beforo the public) are carried, the council will not forget to make provision for a club-room in those additions. The club's credit balance has increased considerably. and the financial position must bo considered very satisfactory.
