BIBLE CLASS CONCERT
Mombers of the Methodist- Trinity Church Young Women's Bible Class held a concert in tho Trinity Church Schoolroom, Newtown, on Wednesday for the benefit of tho Homo and Foreign Mission Funds. Tho schoolroom was crowded. Tho first part of the programme consisted of selections from "Tho Geisha" (by tho permission of J.' C. Williamson, Ltd.), and. five of Amy Woodford-Finden's little Japanese songs, tho performors being members of the Bible Class. Tho staging was a feature, and tlioso taking part in the p6i'fo?nianco appeared in a surrounding of cherry blossom and wistaria. In the second part of tho programme Miss Barney contributed a pianoforte solo; Miss Luke, a recitation: Miss Brittain, ■a solo; Miss Russell and Miss M'Asely, a violin duet; the Misses Brittain, a duet; and members of tho>,Bible Class Union, a comedietta and a glee. Tho last two items were particularly good. During an interval Miss Eva Ward, who had trained tho performers ,in tho Japanese scenes, was presented with a bouquot.
