Mr. A. Moreland, of Pipatoetoe, was granted the use of the prefix "Beachlands"; Mr. J. L. Hanna, Paeroa, "Ranch"; and Dr. Knight, Wellington, "Richmond."

It was decided to add a new rule to tho condition .of entry for registration as under: —"Tho breeder of any animal must obtain registration before any transfer by him can bo recorded." It was agreed that the secretary should attend as many of the forthcoming spring shows as possible, and arrange to meet tho local branches where convenient. A very largo amount of routine business was also dealt with.

The prico of butter has been reduced by the Taieri and Peninsula Company, as from yesterday, by Id. per lb., the retail price for first-grade factory now being Is. 3d. Should the weather prove favourable* and the milk supplies keep up it is anticipated that a further reduction of Id. per lb.'will shortly take place. The lambing season is now at its height in the Ashburton county, and from reports to hand has been very satisfactory. So prolific hare' been the increases, that in spito of the mortality among flocks at tho commencement of the season there is every reason to believe that docking operations will reveal a much higher general average than has been recorded for quite a number of preceding years. If you had an important message to 6end, would you ignore modern facilities such, as tho telophono or'telegraph? Of course, you wouldn't. 'Some cheese factory managors and directors utilise modern inventions in their office, but ignore them in the factory. "Victor" Vats are the last word in vat construction, and are as necessary to a well-equipped cheese factory as its telephone. A Victor" includes all the good points that kelp to make , better cheese, and resulting big dividends. Send" for particulars of "Victor" Vats. Albert J. Parton, Registered Plumber, Carterton —Advt.
