WRIT FOR SLANDER.
SEQUEL TO MR. WADE'S CENSURE MOTION. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Sydney, September 17. Mr. Griffith (New South Wales Minister for Public Works) has instructed his solicitors to issuo a writ for slander against Mr. Wade, in connection with tho statement made in the Assembly by the latter in connection with tho censure motion preferred against Mr. Griffith's administration. Mr. Griffith informally informed his colleagues of the step 'taken, / but did not make it a Cabinet matter. Mr. Holman, tho Premier, advised Mr. Griffith not. to go to the Courts, on the ground that Parliamentary privilege should not be lightly brushed asido in such a fashion. Mr. Wade's charges had. not been sustained by tho House, and the proper thing was to treat them with contempt. Other Ministers support Mr. Holman's viow. Mr. Wade states that he has not yet received a writ. (Rec. September 18, 0.25 a.m.) Sydney, September 17. The writ against Mr. Wado will not bo issued immediately. Mr. Griffith is asking Mr. Wade to agree to certain suggestions.
