At their Waikano sate on Tuesday, tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company had- a. good yarding of sheep and cattle. Prices for hoggets. declined, and several pens passed at auction were sold afterwards at a reduced pricc. The firm quote :—Small hoggets, ss. 2d. to lis.; empty ewes, 10s. Id.; forward empty ewes, 14s. 2d.; fat hoggets,, lfe.; light fat wethers, £1 ss.;'fat owes, £l-ls.: weanere, £1 ss. to £1 IDs.; yearling heifcm, £2 lis.; empty heifers, £3 to £3 10s.; backward two-year stefrrs, £5 55.; store cows, £2 125.; springing heifers, £5; heifers and calves, £5; forward heifers, £5 15s. to £8 55.; springing cows, to £7. . The New . Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—We hold our weekly rale at Solway (Maetcrton) yesterday, ivhoil we submitted a fair entry of sheep and cattle to a. good attendance of buyers. Competition for sheep was rather slack. Medium hoggets brought from 13s; 3d. to :14s. 6d.; backward do., lis. 3d.; aged ewos and lambe, 15s. 9d.; small ehorii hoggets, 10s.: light, fat two-tooth ewc3, 225.: cows oh drop, to £9; springing heifers, £5; bull, £3 ss. The. Cattle: Small yearlings, £2 2s. 6d. to £2 Bs.; yearling ateors, £3 35.: store cows, £2 15s. to £3 65.;- cows in calf, £5 2s. 61I.: forward empty bolters, £4 145.; two-year steers, £5 55.; bulls, £4 2a. 6d. to £4 10s., and up to £9 2s. 6d. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report 011 their Mnsterton sale held nt Solway yesterday as follows:—We offered a good yarding of sheep to a satisfactory attendance of buyers, and this offering met with a ready sale. Included in- our entry was a special lino of 174 extra prime fat ewes, averagi'mj considerably over 7filb. These were offered in behalf of tho ?Tgar konui Esto.to without reserve, and wero purchaser by. Mr. W. Keys, of Upper Hutt, for tho very satisfactory price of 3frs., which is said to be a record price for tho Wa-irarapa.. Tho sheep were big framed and particularly well woollod. Other sales:—Fart and forward four-tooth wethers, 245. 3d.; mixed hoggets, 14s. to lEs. In cattle ouir entry was limited, and but little business resulted.

ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Teleuraph—Press Association.} Christchurcli, September 17. At Addington sales to-day there woro smaller cntric3 of stock, and only a moderate attendance. Fat cattlo were firmer by 3b. per 1001b. Store sheon wore unchanged. Now season's fat lam.bd sold well. I'at plieep opened firmly, but unfinished wethers were somewhat easier.
