Sir. L. Nelson and Mrs. Nelson, who motored through from Napier yesterday, aro staying at the Hotel Windsor. Mr. A. E. Sykes, of New Plymouth, is at present on a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. R.. Gd.* A Canterbury station holder who had sold his place, and not wishing to cast adrift an old man who had been working f.or him for a number of years, sent tho man to n new place, which ho (tlio station holder) had bought. Tho man was to ho found, in addition to receiving 255. a week, and all ho had to do was to cook his own meals and occasionally superintend the men working on his employer's new property. Tho old man was provided, with .£8 or JEO worth of groceries and general supplies to start off with, and \\<ns motored to t!lie properly and given charge of the residence, pending his employer's arrival. He returned tojiinnru on .Sunday morning (sav.s the "Herald") stilling that tho plaec whs too lonely, and that if they wanted him to remain they would have to send up someone to conic his meals for him! \
