Hans Schmidt, on a charge of the murder of Anna Aumaller, whoso dismombered body was found in tho river, it is stated that according to German cablo messages Schmidt had been (declared insane in Germany, and suspended from tho ministry on account of attempted frauds. Tlio : prison physician declares that Schmidt Js undoubtedly insane, because of tho skilful way in which ho disposed of tho girl's remains, and tho attempts ho afterwards made to liido his tracks. Another arrest is expected.-

"Tho Lord told mo to do it, and Saint Elizabeth, my patron saint, demanded tho sacrifice," declared Schmidt lvhon ho confessed to tlio crime.
