SUMMER SPORTS.
ARRANGING THE DATES. A mooting of delegates from local sports bodies was held last evening for the purpose of seeing if something could be done to avoid clashing of dates for important sports'fixtures during tho coming summer. Mr. M. M. Il'.'Luetic (chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association) presided, and there wore also present Messrs. C. G. Wilson (Cricket Association), B. Salmon (Junior Cricket Association), B. A. Guiso (N.Z.A.A.A.), J. F. Atkins (N.Z.A.S.A.), C. T. Young (Wellington Centre N.Z.A.A.A.), aiid F. Hodson (Wellington Centre N.Z.A.A.A.). Mr. Atkins stated early in the meeting that his association was anxious to have somo information about dates, so that swimming fixtures could bo arranged in such a manner that they would not conflict with athletics or cricket. v Mr. Guise announced that his association had definitely fixed upon December 26 and 27 for the meeting at which the American athletes \yould compete in Wellington. Apart from this, delegates were 'unable to give any date? that- had been ■definitely decided upon, and it was consequently deemed advisable to adjourn the meeting until three weeks henco.
