6 BRITISH EXPEDITION TO KING EDWARD LAND. By Telegraph—Press Association—CopsTieht ("Kmes"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables.) London, September 11. An expedition to King Edward VII Land has been arranged. It will start in August, 1914, in the steam yacht Polaris, under tho command of Captain Stackhouso, wlio was associated with the.lato Captain Scott in organising tho voyage of tho Terra Nova to tho Antarctic. Tlio expedition will bo absent twenty months. (Press Association.) Captain was Captain Scott's intimate associate. Scott promisedl to lend tho Terra Nova's instruments for tlio proi»sed exploration of the east of King Edward Land. Tlio Polaris has beon specially constructed for ail ico expedition'. Captain Stackhouso intends to spend two yeairs in the Antarctic, wintering in the pack ico, whilo tho vessel returns to New Zealand. Captain Stackhouso, .who takes with him a largo staff of scientists and a crow of forty, will sail via Punta Arenas. Tlio expedition, which will cost £40,000, has already received considerable financial support.
