The Rev. W. Douglas, M.A., tho oldest active Presbyterian minister in New Zealand, who resigned his charge of the Kilbirnio and Roseneath Churches at the end of last month, has left for Hawke's Bay, where ho has taken up a small fruit and poultry farm. The reverend gentleman carries with him tho good wishes of a large circlo of friends in liis new venture. Though well advanced in years, Mr. Douglas still retains a largo amount of vigour, but he recognises that tho exacting labours of the ministry should bo fulfilled by younger men.
