Margin, managor of tho brick- , works at New Lynn, and his evidence was to the effect that tho goods tiafho through tho station was heavy, that the arrangemonts for safety or tho public wero inadequate, that owing to tho fact that thero was 110 stationmastor at New Lynn officials on tho trains had frequently ignored warnings and ruu the risk of accident, that'there was, therefore, need of a stationmaster to exercise proper discipline, and that an island platform, which residents asked for. was an urgent necessity.
