OTAKI SANATORIUM.

Sir,—l do not as a rule reply to anonymous correspondents. I see 110 reason why "Ex-Sister" should not sign her name to her Jstiesv 1 - shows how reckless and liott inaccurate her statements must be wlien she refused to do so. It is nows to myself, and, indeed, to many others, that tho matron lias taken any sister into lier confidence, and may I say that her letter is so much hko the misleading statements given to the Otaki "Mail by some of tho officials of the .sanatorium that I take tho contents with a big grain of salt. If I reveal extraordinary ignorance (and I do not admit: so) about tho work that goes on at the institution, it must be the fault of tho officials in keeping information to themselves when repeated applications havo been made by myself as to tho conditions of ex-pa-tients. However, it can easily be seen that "Ex-Sister" (if she exists) has allowed tlier imagination to over-run her discretion. I would, like to point out that this supposed ex-sister states in her letter that she worked at tho sanatorium for four years and later she states: "I left tho sanatorium some years, ago." To show how inconsistent sho is in li-y statements, may I point out that the sanatorium was opened six years last May? I will leave your readers to draw conclusions. But as sho is in conclave with tho officials of the sanatorium she will have an opportunity of reading my letter to the editor of tho Otaki "Mail" in which I point out. how misleading and inaccurate are the statements of herself and her , "double" in connection with the sanatorium.—l am, etc., B. R. GARDENER. Levin, September 9, 1913.
