ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS.
THE HUNT TROPHY. . Tho trophy offered by Mr. E. AY. Hunt for public speaking, which was compoted for last Bight at a meeting of tho Accountant Students' Society, was won by Sir. T. Auton, the other competitors being Messrs. W. H. Cunningham, E. P. Lambert, W. Power, and J. T Sullivan. Each of tho competitors had to write an essay on n. subject chosen by himself, and to answer questions on the paper, and to speak on "The essential features of an.accountant's investigation of a business on behalf of an incoming partner." Mr. A. S. Biss officiated as judge, and Mr. W.. 13. Hudson (president) occupied the chair, there being twenty-seven members of the society present. A voto of thanks was accorded to Mr. Hunt, who in a vice-president, and was the first secretary of the society, and a similar'voto was passed to tho Wellington branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants for a grant of £20.,
