IN A NEWSPAPER OFFICE. ■> By Telegraph—Press Association-Oopirislit (Rec. September 9, 10 p.m.) Brisbane, September 9. Suspecting a leakage of nows the "Daily Mail," -using scare liead-lines, published a suppositious wireless message from Dr. Mawson implying that a life-buoy from tho steamer' 1 Waratah had been discovered in the ice. A few copies only containing tho message were printed, and carefully distributed. Tho trap caught on. Tho nows was republished tho same day, and flanked -by an interview with a prominent shipping expert expressing the opinion that tho Waratah mystery had at last been solved.
