NEW LYNN ACCIDENT. — a ' . INQUIRY OPENED. The Railways Committee of tho House of Representatives yesterday opened an inquiry into tlho accident which . occurred recently at the New Lynn railway station (Auckland). It will bo remembered that during a fog tho passenger train from Henderson collided with a stationaij train just outside tho New Lynn station. Tho accident happened) at tho foot of _an incline, and several persona wore injured l . A Departmental inquiry was held, but tho residents of tile district in which tho accident happened wero not satisfied' with this, and petitioned the Government for a public inquiry. The investigations of tho Railways Comraitteo aro the result of that petition.
