COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.

The third annual festival of the New Zealand Competitions Society, commencing at the Town Hall on November, 3, 6ids fair to eclipse all previous efforts. Although entries do not close until September 30, the secretary, .Mr. James Dykes, reports that entries. aro already pouring in from all parts of tho Dominion, and' that everything points to tho fact tiiat tho talent this year will be of a higher ordor than that of either of tho two previous festivals. Tho executive being already assured of good outside entries are particularly desirous that Wellington shall bo well represented, and therefore appeal to tho Wellington public for support to the Bame extent as tho Christeliurch and Dunedin public support their own local competitions. Text books and entry forms aro obtainable from all music shops or from the secretary, 149 Featherston Street.
