[By Glencoe.] The Tronthaui owner, Mr. W. Davies, is leaving for Sydnoy next week with four of his brood mares, which are to be sold there. At the conclusion of the Dannevirke meeting next week Rangi Thompson will leave for Sydney, to ride Loch Maben and Prince Eddie" in their Randwick engagements next month. The North Island jockeys S. Reid, B. Deeloy, and H. Coker. will bo riding at tho Ashburton meeting next week. The former will take F. D. Jones's place on W. Donnellan's team; Deeley will be on Tlirax and Oxenhope; and Coker will rido Brasenoso in the Hack Hurdles. Birkline is being regularly schooled over hurdles at Gisborne by W. J. Porter. Mr. C. Morso has decided to send the bay gelding to the Otaki meeting for his first public run over fences. W. Higgins, formerly a woll-known cross-country horseman, will preside at T. Lloyd's stables during the latter's absence in Sydney and Melbournei. Nescot, Master Laddo, and Erica aro tho horses left behind at Marton. On the Sydney boat yesterday were two of Mr. G. D. Greenwood's mares, who have gone on a visit to Bronzino. Pcireno was easily recognised, but slio has thickened out considerably. Tho other mare was an unnamed filly by Boniform, from Emperador's dam. J. M'Laughlin brought Daybreak to Wellington from Napier, intending' to ship tho Birkenhead filly to Sydney, but on arrival hero an offer was received for tho mare from a West Coast buyer, and a deal was mado. Daybreak will join W. Donnellan's team at Greymouth. A. Neale, who recently returned from Sydney, is superintending tho training of J. JNl'Laughlin's team at Napier during tho latter's absence in Sydney. The Napier team consists of Royal Scout, Eocene, and a Sabietache golding, which Mr. M. Harrison recently purchased in Gisborno. Amongst the passengers who left by tho Manuka for Sydney yesterday wero Mr. D. Hammond, part-ownor of Marton, and Mr. E. Luttrell, of Christchurch. The five jumpers which wore on board tho Manuka yesterday all looked well. Loch Mabqn has picked up considerably, but he still bears marks on the hind legs, acquirod by contact with Riccarton fences. Prince Eddio has freshened upland appears, nono tho worse for his racing last month. Tho Native, Glenmore, and Marton —especially tlio latter should all land well, though Lloyd was a bit anxious about Glenmore, who is a bad traveller. Mr. J. R. M'Donald, owner of Tho Native, will leavo for. Sydney next week, in order to seo his horse race at Randwick. Tho Levin sportsman is not aiaking as good a recovery as could bo expected, and his medical attendant has ordered him a change of climate. Ono of the best-looking three-year-olds in tho Hawko's Bay district is Birkful, who lias improved out of knowledge. Tho bay colt will bo a runner in the hack events at Dannovirke next Wednesday. Tho privilegos in connection with the Otaki Racing Club wero sold on Thursday. Tho gates realised £139, Mr. Wyott being the purchasor. Tho publican's booths, insido and outside, woro blocked down to Mrs. Higgins at £83 10s. and £30 10s. respectively, and Mr. Hodgman .secured tho outsido stand at £5 55., and Mr. R. George tho horsepaddock at 30s. A wedding of local interest ivas solemnised at To Horo on Thursday, when Miss Ireno Chandler, eldest daughter of Mr. .W. Chandler, was married to Mi-. William Daniel Pratt, of Wanganui. Misses Doris and Kate Chandler woro bridesmaids, and Mr. Robertson best man.
