A RECORD YEAR, Tlio "Tablet" (Loudon), of July. 19, Som'o interesting figures of tlio-con-tributions of Catholics in various countrios for the work of tho Propagation of tho'Faith wero given by Father I'. E. Ross at tlio sectional meeting of tho association at tho Plymouth Congress. It appears that 1912 was a, record year. The receipts amounted to £322,063 os. 5d., an increase of £31,093 19s. 3d. over tlio amount received in 1911, and tho largest over collcctcd by the association sinco its foundation ninety-ono years ago. As usual, Franco leads the Catholic in contributing to this world-wido missionary organisation with £124,273 4s; 9d. Tho contributions of other countries were aa follow:—United States, £73,153 6s. 9d.; Germany, including Alsaco and Loraine, £49,202 145.; Belgium, £14,249 4s. lid.; Argontino, £12,237 14s. 3d.; Italy, £10,895 7s! Bd.; Ireland doubled its contribution, , £10,547 7s. 10d.; Spam, £8166,105.; Mexico, £4866 3s. od.; Switzerland, £4082 195.; England, £4025 Bs. 7d.; Chile, £3825 19s. Id. Tho offerings of the faithful in tho United States wero £20,000 more than in tho previous year. Tho dioceso or New York sent in £30,398, Boston £9288, and Philadelphia £4584. If wo turn to tho British Branch wo find that the total receipts from tlio dioceses show an advance of £635 on tlioso or 1911. Those from tho dioceso of Plymouth rose from £61 to £143; Portsmouth, Clifton, and Northampton aro eacii credited with an increaso of about £30. Westminster's contributions rose from £340 to £467, aud Birmingham's from £259 to £388.
