Of these 9645 paid oi), incomes under £700 a year; 700 were between; £700 and £800446 wove between £800 and £900; 376 wero. between £900 and £1000; 879 were between £1000 niid £1500; 355 were bo' twccn. £150() and £2000; 280 wore be-| tween £2000 and £3000; 140 were bo-j tween £3000 and £4000; 78 were between £4000 and'£sooo ; 70- wero between £5000 and £7000; 74 wore between, £7000 and £10,000; while 118 paid incoino tax on incomes above £10,000 a - year. A further tablo gavo tbo amounts paid, in cash. The largest class on tlio scale arranged was that which paid over £50 as incoino tax; 1311 persons wero in this class. •
