Nicholson: St. Augustine's Hall, 112; Friendly Societies' Hall, 90; Ivcro-Koro School, 1; total, 203. Majority for Mr. Forsyth. 230. A lect/iro by Mr. J. T. Nott, M.A., was delivered in tho-Wesley ' Young (Men's Hall last evening. . Tho Rev. J. ' J. Lewis was in tho chair. Tho subject was: "Problems of Life," and at' tho conclusion tho speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thauks from an interested audience . Whilst engaged in taking a power-fully-built man into custody along Jackson Street last evening, Constable Carmody and another constablo wero suddenly surprised 10 discover that tho man oould not only "talk fight," but could act it. When overpowered by the combined efforts of tho police, ho resorted to very vigorous diction and preEintiy attracted a crowd.
