The Home Secretary (Mr. _ Reginald M'Kenna), replying to a petition from the clergy asking for Mrs. Pankliurst's. release, said that nothing would _ bo done under tho act that could injure hor health. In tho doctors', opinion, Mrs. Pankhuirst's health was not seriously injulrcd. However, ho pointed out-, unless the Government received an assurance that tho lady would'- abstain from future crimes, it would be_ impossible for him to adviiso his Majesty to pardon or to remit tho sentence. (Rec. September 1, 10.25 p.m.) London, September 1. It is believed that Miss Sylvia Pankhurst has gono to Denmark.
