RIVAL WORKSHOPS MEET. Tho annual match betweon the Potone Railway Workshops and the Newmarket (Auckland) Workshops was played on Athletic Park on Saturday, as a cur-tain-raiser to tho big event. Potono won by 15 to 6. For Potone, Bold, B. Ryan, and Caloinai scored tries, and Joe Ryan potted a goal and converted his brother's try. M'Dovitt scored a try for Newmarket, and Hogan kicked a penalty-goal. Mr. A. C. Kitto was roferce.
Mr. 'A. M. Myors, M.P. for Auckland East, who- was one of the most interested spectators of tho game, and who is hiihself an old Wellington representative player, has promised to present every membor of the Auckland team with a_ gold medal in celebration of their victory. ■
