9 BLIND PHILANTHROPIST DEAD. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. August 31, 5.5 p.m.) \ l.ontlon, August 30. Mr. Alfred Hirst, tlic blind philanthropist and wool expert, is dead. DR. TEMPEST ANDERSON. Dr. Tempest Anderson, tho eminent authority on opthalmic diseases, and a distinguished student of volcanic phenomena, died from enteric fever in tho Suez Canal, on his way homo from tho Philippines.
