« THEATRE ROYAL. ! A very lino programme is now being presented at tho Theatre Royal. Tho artists aro almost all now to Wellington, and every "turn" is good. Amongst those contributing to tho programmo aro; Bryant and Bryant, tho Lyrical Four, Gloria Mayno, Ruby Wallace, Goorgo Dean, tljo Leopold Sisters, and Fred Branscombo. To-night Corona, tho cornetist and tlio St. Leonards will mako their last appearanco in Wellington. THE "SMART SET."The "Smart Set," that Sno company of costume comedy artists, will appear at Lower Hutt this evening. On Monday they will return to tho Town If all Concert Chamber, in ail entirely row programme, Mr. Edward Elliott, tho principal humorist of tho company, is preparing a New Zealand revue, which will bo presented shortly. Tho rcmc deals with New Zealand events in a humorous way, and is bound to be papula r. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Last night's screening of the fine film "With Scott to the Pole," took placo in tlio presence of a crowded audicnco who followed the unfolding of tho picture with undoubted interest. Quito apart from the sympathetic feeling evoked by the sad fato of tho leaders of tho expedition tho picture itself is of great excellenco and of much value as a reliable historic record. "With Scott to tlio Polo" will ho shown at a spccial matineo at 2.30 this afternoon and will be screened for the last timo to-night. On Monday the star feature of a new programme will bo "Tho Heritage." KING'S THEATRE. Tho current programme at'the King's Theatre includes several fine films. Tho •chief is "The Lion Hunters," a drama full of exciting incidents, which shows tho killing of three lions. Other pictures are: "Bunny's Honeymoon," "In Their Hour of Need," "The Egyptian Mummy," and "The Other Girl." THE EMPRESS THEATRE. To-day and to-night the current programme of'the Empress Theatro Continuous Pictures will bo screen&d for the last time. "A Gambler's Honour," a stirring A.B. Western drama, concerns an attempt by a professional card-player to divert his fiancee's brothoi from a life of gambling. He knows that tho brother has stolen money from his employers, and tho professional gambler wins tho money from him in order to replace it in the employers' safe. Tho defaulter, staggered by his loss, commits suicide. Another prominent "feature" is tho Kalem drama "A Battle in tho Virginia Hills." "Eclair Journal" (topical), "Tho Runaway" (Thanliouser drama), and a number of comcdies are also shown. A new programmo will appear on Monday. SHORTTS' THEATRE.. There aro two big pictures now being shown at Shortts' Theatre. Both aro dramatic subjects which "grip." They aro "Captain Mang Brown" and "A Soldiers' Fortune." "Saving Mabel's Dad" is an excellent comic picture, and "Some Fools Thero Wore" is a drama of more than ordinary interest. There aro several other pictures iu tho programme. SUNDAY CONCERT. Tho Wellington City Band lias prepared an excellent programme for its concert to bo held at His Majesty's Theatro to-morrow evening. The Orpheus Quartet will sing ''Good Night" and "Alton Water".; Mr. ]'.' .1. DocMs (tenor), of Christchurch, will sing "filie" is Far From tho Land"; Mr, S. Button will sing "Tho Miner''; Mr. D. ; Coyle (euphonium soloist) will piny "Sehnsucht." Tho band items include tho selection "Traviata" and a well-ar-ranged duet, "Antony and Cleopatra" < (for cornet and trombone), Mr. Shardlow and Mr. Glennie, jun. Silver win collection in aid of tho baud fuud. I ORGAN RECITAL. j Tlio inaugural organ recital of tho' series will bo given this evening 'by 1 Mr. Bernard Page, lato of tho Carmo- j lite Church, London, the new city or-! ganist. Mr. Page comes to Wellington ; with excellent recommendations from : England, and tho audience this evening should find something to their satisfaction in tho programme prepared bv Mr. Page. Tho following aro somo of the numbers ho will play: "Sonatina in A Minor" (Allegro Moderate, Andanta Molto, Tripelfughetta), by Karl Elort; Schumann's "Fuguo No. 6," on tlio namo of Bach; the Finale "Symphonic Patlietiquo" (Tschaikovsky); and Rliapsodie (No. 1) op. 7 (Saint Saens).
