(From Our' Speoial Correspondent,) • 4 The Salvation Army barracks at Petouo were crowded last evening, the occasion being a Iccturo by Brigadier Carmichaol 011 tlio life story of the lato Genoral Booth. Tlio lecture was illustrated by 120 lniitorn slides,- tlio ninchino being operated by Adjutant Wellington. The animal social gathering of tlio ■ Technical School was held in tlio Drill Hall, l'ctoni, last evening. Music was supplied by Sir. Williams's Orchestra, the M.C.'s were Messrs. G. and A. Miller and Olson, and Mcsdanios Boyd, • Valentine, and Walton noted nn tlio I,amies' Committee. The liov. Mr. Thomson and Mr. Castle, of the Hoard of Managers, were present, during Hie evening.
