The grocers' dispute camo Eoforc thS, Conciliation Council to-day, when tho wages agreed to were as follows:—Fifteen to sixteen years, 10s. per week; 16 to 17 years, 15s. per week; J. 7to 18 years, £1 per week; 18 to 19-years, £1 ss. ppr week; 19 to 20 years, £1 10s f per week; 20 to 21 years, £1 15s. per week; 21 to 22 years, £2 2s. 6d. pepweek; from 22 ycats and upwards, £3 10s. per week. The )ni»imiim rates for ■ drivers of the ago of 23 years and ovof was fixed at £2 10s. per week. No; youth under the ago of 18 years N is to hoi employed in driving within a radius ofi five miles of Christchurch. A clauso* dealing with tho employment of casual! workers, as embodied in the Auckland! agreement, was discussed at great; length. The union asked for Is. 3d. j -per hour, and'the employers offered timoand a quarter. Tho Commissioner said that the Court would not agree to timo and a quartor. Ho thought that thero were some employers who might abuso it. Finally it was agreed not- to insert a casual labour clauso. Tho clauses in tho agreement relating to holidays under rate workers, clerks, definition of "assistants," scope and term of award, and preference wero agreed to without discussion.
