OBITUARY.
"STEPHEN ADAMS"—SONG - WRITER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, August 26. Mr. Michael , Maybrick (Stephen Adams), the musical composer, is dead. Mr. Maybrick was born at Liverpool in 1844, and educated at Liverpool, Milan, and Leipsig. After studying in Italy and Germany lie appeared as a bfiritone vocalist in all the ieading London and provincial concerts, and also in English opera, etc., for many years. He also became popular as a writer of songs, etc., under tho name of Stephen Adams. He was a vice-president of Trinity Collefre, London. Ho was five times Mayor of It.vde. His songs include "Nancy Lee," "The Midshipmito," "Alsatian Mountains," "Star of Bethlehem," "The Little Hero," "The Holy City," "A Warrior Bold," "Valley liv the Sea," "Children of the City, "Tliora," "Long Live the King," etc.
