HAWKER'S FLIGHT.
FOE THE £5000 PRIZE. CIRCUIT OP SCOTLAND.' By Telegraph—Press Association—Copsricht London, August 26. Mr. Hawker, in his Sopwith hydroaeroplane, has made excellent progress in his flight round the British Isles for tho "Daily Mail" £5000 prizo, and immense crowds have greeted their arrival at the various centres at which ho alighted. Tho conditions so far, except for sea-fogs, have been excellent. Mr. Hawker-was .delayed,at .Beadnell and Montrose, owing to engino adjustments being necessary. He resumed his flight at 8.5 a.m.,, and, averaging 68 miles an hour, reached Aberdeen at 10.45. The stage from Aberdeen to Cromarty, 131 miles, was accomplished in-130 minutes, by 2.5 p.m., and then came the flight to Oban, on the west coast, where Hawker remains overnight. (Rec. August 27, 10.50 p.m.) London, August 27. . Mr. Hawker arrived at Oban, at a height of 8000 feet, and descended at 5.35 p.m., in two graceful circles, to the bay. Troublesome gusts of wind impeded his voyage along the Caledonian Canal. • POMMERY CUP RACE. Paris, August 26. M. Guillaux aeroplaned from Biarritz to Schezsel, north-east of Bremen, a distance of 982 miles. So far he is the winner of the'Pommery Cup. , MILITARY AIRMEN KILLED. Paris, August 26. Two military airmen were , killed at Villacoublay through falling from a height of 160 ft.
