EASTBOURNE RECEPTION.
His .Worship the Mayor and councillors of Eastbourno will bo entertained next Saturday ovening, in the Eastbourne Hall, and it is anticipated that tho gathering will bo generously supported by townspeople as well as residents. The committee appointed to supervise arrangements havo ■ prepared an exceptionally fine programme for the evening. A full orchestra will provide selections. Miss Ceeile Haines will make her first appearanco at tho Bay, and among tho other performers will be: Dr. Hales, Cyril Howard (tho boy soprano), Mr. lloland Digby, Mr. Ernest Luks, Miss Betty Purdom, and Mr. Culford Bell (New Zealand champion elocutionists), and Messrs. Fletcher and Allwright. Messrs. Stanley Rahkiri and H. Blick will officiate at tho piano, and the orchestra will bo under tho capablo control of . Mr. M'Laughlin. Aftert lie completion of tho programme, congratulatory speeches will bo delivered, and will be replied to by his Worship the Jlayor (Mr. W. J. Organ). Tho evening will conclude with a suppor and dance. A special steamer will leave town at 7 p.m., returning after tho reception.
