WORKING MEN'S CLUB.
IN CONFERENCE. . A coaiiference of Working Men's Clubs was opened in Wellington yesterday. The delegates present wore:—Messrs. R. S. Cumiffe and W. E. Forsyth (Petone), H. Boyco n.iul G. Patchott (isßlenheim), G: E. Jones (Gisbonio), W. A. L. Bailey (Rangitikei), W. Simpson (Kaiapoi and Oxford), E. T. Rainbow (Christohurch), and J. Graham and M'Nee (Wellington). Mr. M'Nee-was. elected president.
Tho clubs which will be represented are South YVairarapa (by Mr. Loasby), and Palmcrsten North (Messrs. Annstrong and Mahon). The "conference has been arranged by tho Wellington Club, and' it is intended to make.the gatOwring an annual one. The business is being transacted in committee, and it was stated that an official report would be supplied to the press.
