HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special meeting of tho Hutt County Council was held yesterday morning for tho purpose of discussing tho estimates for tho current year. Tliero were present: Councillors W. Galloway (chairman), W. J. Howell, M. W, Welch, T. Edwards, J. Whiteman, and J Wakoman.
Tho financial statement, showed that the estimated expenditure for tho year was .£12,755 14s. 7d., being about £300 in excess of the receipts. Various amounts for road repairs, etc., wero apportioned to each riding, according to its capital value. It was decided to strike a general rate of Id.,- being 7-16 d. for the general accounts, and 9-16 d. for the ridings.
