Cipher orders wore sent to the aviators by displaying black lettors six feet long, on white canvas pegged to tho ground. The position of a concealed battery and the effect of slrrapnel fire wore reported by tho air-scouts with sufficient success to justify each brigade of artillery being accompanied by aeroplanes..
