HIGHLAND RIFLE CLUB.

TROPHIES PRESENTED. At the annual smoke concert' of the Highland Defence Rifle Club held last night, Mr. J; M'Donald presided. Thero was a good muster, those present including Lieutenant-Colonel Macintosh, Captain* Richardson, Captain Roache, Mr. L. Shannon, and Mr. H. Marshall, the lastnamed representing tho executive of the rifle clubs. Among the toasts honoured were "Tho King," "The Visitors," "The Donors of Trophies," and "The Rifle Clubs." An excellent musical programme was contributed to by Messrs. L. Shannon, J. Pitt, H. M'Lellon, P, Martin, H. Henderson, R. M'Millan, H. Marsden, and K. Hooper. . At a suitable stage of .tho proceedings, Lieutenant-Colonel Macintosh presented the trophies that had been won during the year. The list was as follows:—First Series—A Class: Rifleman Eves, Mr. H. Marsden's trophy, 1; Rifleman Spencer, President M'Donalds trophy, 2; JJoputyPxesident Shannon, Mr. r. Martins trophy, 3. B Class: Rifleman M'Glade, club's trophy, 1; Riflemen _ Morten9on, club's trophy, 2, Second Series—A Class: ' President M'Donald, Mr. J. Eve's trophy, 1; Rifleman. Sneddon, President Shannon's trophy, 2; Rifleman Coniboar, club's trophy, 3. B Class: Rifleman Morison, club's trophy, 1; Rifleman M'Glade, 1 club's trophy, 2. Third Series—A. Class: Rifleman Sneddon, Mr. H. Langdon's trophy, 1; Rifleman Shannon, Mr. P. Martin's trophy, 2; Rifleman Eves, club's trophy, 3. B Class: Rifleman James, Mr. Spencer's trophy, 1. Club ChampionshipRifleman Sneddon (aggregate 725), Lieu-tenant-Colonel Macintosh's trophy and club's gold medial. Runner-up: Rifleman Eves (aggregate 724), Mr. Brooke's trophy. Junior Champion—Rifleman Morison, Mr. Conibcar'a trophy. Consolation Match — Rifleman Martin, Mr. Pitt's trophy. Most Improved Shot—Rifleman Hayes, Mr. Pitt's trophy.
