Ho received a great many messages from all parts of tho dioceso urging him to remain in his present charge, but he will not decide what answer ho will malco to tho Auckland Synod for a few days. Auckland, August 22. No definite announcement has been received from Bishop Avoril, of Waiapu, in response Ik tho request of tho Anglican Synod that ho should accept tho vacant ]3ishoprio of Auckland*,. Bishop Avcrill telegraphed from Wellington to Archdeacon Older to-day as follows: "Telegram received last night. Returning to Napier to-day. Am writing Waiapu."
