Owing to th<j abnormal number of strikes, the effect on tho trade unions' funds is causing the leaders anxiety. The reserve funds of the General Federation increased from £162,210 in 1908 to ,£15,888 in 1913. . .
Thore aro nearly nine hundred tliousand unionists affiliated to tho federation. The danger arises from the growing membership sweeping in less thrifty members.
