TRAIN SMASH.
DISASTER AT ROCKHA'MPTON, Br Telesranh—Press Association—Copyright (Reo. Amgust 21,10.10 p.m.) Brisbane, August 21. Shortly after midnight a railway collision occaurred at Aldershot. While a goods train from Rockhampton was standing at station a special train,- cairrying sugar-cane in from the Pialba branch line, crashed into it. The brake-van of the stationary train was smashed, while the engine of the other train was derailed, and six of the wagons were wrecked. Although the Pialba train was fitted with Westinghouso brakes, the driver states that they failed to act.
The passengers of. both trains escaped with nothing more serious than a shock.
