BARRIER SHOPS STRIKE.
SUPPLIES RUNNING SHORT. By Telegraph—Pross Association—Copyright Sydney, August 20. In a statement in the Legislative Assembly on the subject of the shop and warehouse assistants' strike at Broken Hill, Mr. M'Gowen, Minister for Labour and Industries, announced that ho anticipated that the negotiations in progress would result in a settlement of the strike in a day or two. Meantimo the wholesale firms were itnable to deliver goods, and retail suppliers were running short.
