Mexico City, August 18. President Wilson's endeavour to induco President Huerta to see reason 011 tho Mexican situation has failed.
Mr. Lind, special envoy from the United States to Mexico, after an audience with President Huerta, has telegraphed to I'resideut Wilson stating thalt Huerta has firmly decided not to allow the United States to mediate in Mexican affairs 011 any terms. Continuous fighting is reported in tho Sonora State, whero tho situation is chaotic. (Eeo. August 19, 11.5 p.m.) Mexico City, August 19. President Huerta has notified the United States Government that unless official recognition of his government of Mexico is forthcoming imnudiately, all relations botween the two countries will bo severed.
