BRITAIN'S DIMINISHING MARGIN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright , (Rec. August 19, 9.30 p.m.) London, August 19. ' The public controversy on the state of tho Imperial Navy still contiuues. Tho "Daily Teilegraph" draws attention to the fact that Great Britain's pre-Dreadnought strips are rapidly diminishing., "The Empire's naval outlook will darken as the older ships drop ouJt," says the "Telegraph," "until we are actually in a position of inferiority to Germany in respect to our pre-Dreadnoughts." HEAVY SQUADRONS. ("Times"—Sydney "Sun," Special Cables.) (Rec.' August 19, 7.5 p.m.) London, August 19. It is stated that at the beginning of the month Great Britain will have two com-, pleto squadrons of' Dreadnoughts in Home waters, representing a broadside of eighty tonk. When the New 'Zealand returns Britain will also have a squadron of ■ battle cruisers in Home waters, and another in the Mediterranean.
