IRELAND ALARMED.
EXODUS OF INDUSTRIES.
By Teleeraph—Press Association—Copyright ("Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cablea) London,' August 18. ' Consternation is feit in Ireland because of the fact thaifc Messrs. Harland and Wolff, the Belfast Shipbuilders, intend establishing shipbuilding works at Liverpool, that Messrs. Arthur Guinness, Son, and 00., Ltd., brewers, are erecting a brewery at Manchester, and 'that Messrs. Jacobs, the biscuit-makers, are opening a bakery in Lancashire. The White Star Company is also proposing to abandon Queens town as a port of call for their steamers. Events in connection with the Derry rioting are likely to cause the disbanding of the Royal Irish Constabulary. ■ Religious bitterness is said to be spoiling their impartiality.
