CITY MILK & ITS CHEMISTRY. ANALYSIS & COSTS. On July 21 last two cliarß-es/of selling adulterated milk were preferred against tho Wellington Dairy Company. The company was convicted and fined on olio count, but the other case was adjourned in order to permit of an independent analysis of the milk sample being mado by Professor Easlerfield. SIGNING OF RECEIPTS. A. T. Bailey pleaded guilty to a chargo of signing a receipt liablo for duty for tho sum of ,E5 ss. 9d., without tho same being duly stamped. He was fined 10s., in default 24 hours' imprisonment. FAMILY AFFAIRS'IN COURT. A separation order was granted Annio, Edwards from her husband, Henry Edwards, on the grounds of continued insobriety.

For failure to maintain his wife, Julius Toeker was fined '10s., in default seven days' imprisonment. Frederick Marshall was fined £3 on each of two charges of-failing to carry out an order by the Court to maintain his wife and children. Tho default was fixed at six weeks' imprisonment. COURT ODDMENTS. Albort Hansen .was sontenced to two months' imprisonment, on two charges of theft, viz.:' (1) A pair of ladies' shoes, valued wit Bs. lid., the property of Wm. Martin; and (2) theft of an overcoat valued at X A 2 10s., the property of John M'Quinn A fino of 40s. -was imposed on Alexander. M'Donald, who pleaded guilty to a chargo of theft of a pair of dungaree trousers. He was also convicted and discharged on a charge of insobriety. Norman Campbell pleaded guilty to two charges of. breaches of his prohibition order. On the first count he was fined .£3, and on .the second JCI. On similar clmrges, Harriet Moloney wfis fined 405., Florence M'Anally 205., John O'Sullivan J:3. Cecilia Parkinson 205., and Alexander 'Wfor .f3. For insobriety, Tlios. Wm. Cooper, Bernard Kromel], and John Hyde were each fined 205., and Henry TJrwin, Wm. M'Donald, and Michael Gregory were fined 10s. each.
