BIG JEWEL ROBBERY.
THIEVES ESCAPE IN A MOTOR-CAR, By Teleffraph—Press A6sooiation—Oopyripht ("Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables.) London, August i 7. Ten thousand pounds' ivorth of jewellery was stolen from a show-case at a Llandudno (Wales) hotel. Tho thieves escaped in a motor-car. ("Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables.) (Rec. August 18, 6.55 p.m.) London, August 18. A bag containing the jewels was taken to the Llandudno Hotel by a woman. An assistant held the bag in her hand, and while lier mistress was removing her hat a motorist engaged lier in conversation, and shortly after took his departure in a motorcar.
It was subsequently discovered that a bag, filled with novels, had been substituted for the jewel bag during that brief conversation with (ho motorist
