Peddle, sheepfarmer, and Wm,' Brown, engineer, loft tho harbour at Whangapoua, .Ooromaudel Peninsula, in a motor launch, on Tuesday last week, • making for Kuaotunu, about ten miles distant. Nothing further lias been seen or heard, of them since. The weather in, the interim has been .very unsettled. Peddle had been heard to say ho intended, to make a trip to Hawke's Bay in tho launch, and it is considered just possible that • ho lias started on a long trip, and has been driven bo shelter in somo bay. It has been reported to Whangapoun that fragments of a motor launch nave been pick-; ed up on tho beqeh between Whangapoua and Kuaotunu.
