The friends of Mr. Sulzer, the Governor, declare that his impeachment by the Legislature for the alleged use of • party funds for private purposes is the result of a Tammany plot. Mr. Sulzer, after having secured office through Tammany, refused to be their tool any longer. Mr. Sulzer has refused to quit office. The Lieutenant-Governor (Mr. Glynn) occupied the Governor's offices, but Mr. Sulzer refused to bo driven out, and attempted .to conduct the State business as usual. Matters have reached a deadlock, heads of departments not knowing who really possesses authority.
