' BROKEN JAW. A wharf worker named Thomas Revell had his jaw broken in two places yesterday as the result of an accident on the wharves. UXTHEME, DEPRESSION. SUICIDE'S LETTER. Auckland, August 13. _ An inquest was held by Mr. F. V. Fraztr, S.M., at the Coroner's Court today into the circumstances connected with the death of George Purely, who was found with a bullet wound ill his head ill Sussex Street, Grey Lynn, on Tuesday morning. Sergeant M'Donnell stated that lie had searched tho body and had found the' following letter:—"lt has always been my wish, when dead, to be buried ot sea. 1 have many friends' among fishermen to whom I am well known and I know that one of them, if* asked, would be only.too glad jo do this last favour. A pauper's gra.ve is what T. ever dreaded. An aching heart and 110 future seem to m? the only thing. God only know? that I have tried to be kind to my two little ones.:' A verdict was returned to the effect that deceased met his death by a bullet wound self-inflicled while in a state of extrelne menial depression.
