IN TASMANIA AND QUEENSLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, August 13. Tlio Mount Balfour Copper Mines in Tasmania havo been sold to a group of Parisian financiers. A French company has been formed with a capital of i 11,100,000. Connected with tho schemo is a novel immigration project, Tho Tasroanian Government is granting forty acres to each approved immigrant, and the company will assist tlio immigrants for tho first three years, whilo the immigrants will assist in building tho company's railway, cutting timber, and handling certain agricultural undertakings. The Mount Oxido Mines in Queensland have been sold to a powerful LondonAustralian group of financiers, who are supported by the Consolidated Mines of South Africa. Tlio capital will be half a million.
