THE DEATH OP CLAIRE WILLIAMSON. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. August 13, 10.45 p.m.) Washington, August 13 The State Judges havo upheld the conviction of Mrs. Hazzard on a charge of causihg tho death of Miss Claire Williamson last year.
A civil case, claiming ,£SOOO damages, on tlio ground of the desecration of Miss Williamson's body in performing an autopsy, is also pending against .Mrs. Hazzard.
Mrs. Hazzard, the "Starvation Doctor," was sentenced to an indefinite term of imprisonment of from Ilvvo to twenty years, on the chargo of tho manslaughter of Miss Claire Williamson, a wealthy Victorian girl, who entered tho accused's "hospital" at Seattle. Miss Dorothy Williamson, n sister of the dend girl, later instituted proceedings against tho undertakers for ailowing an autopsy to bo performed.
