' ASSOCIATION MEETS. ' A meeting of the Wellington Provincial Industrial Association was held last night, Mr. 1,. 1!. Partridge presiding. The amount to crcdit in 'the bank was reported as -CS Os. 3d., and the cash in hand .CIO lfts. Outstanding subscriptions amount to X 37 ins. , Refcreiico was made io correspondence that had passed between the association and 'tlio Auckland Exhibition Executive regarding ?oino miflcnclins iipurfs, which had been quoted, as to tho relative space' areas of the late Wellington Exhibition, and the Auckland one. The president of the Auckland executive (Ml'. George Elliott) pointed'out 'that. ,by the time all the buildings are constructed at tho. coming exhibition tlio area will be Ifii.tH square feet, as against th« Wellinoton area of 75,102 tquaro feet. He stated tlmt ho had gone into the matter with tho view of removing any misapnreliension which mav exist in rrsprct to ih« relative sizo and 'nature of the two exhibitions, and nr't with a view of speaking in any way disparagingly of the splendid Industrial Exhibition held in A\ ellington. The correspondence was received. A renort wns read covering the visiting commit tc-'s inspection of the match facforv nf Bryant and" May. .Bell' and Co., Ltd.. Newtown. Amoin other things, the renort slid: "The industry is certainly one which should command strong support, and monitors of the committee hope that, the industry, together with seine other industries, being carried on in the Dominion, will receive due eoiiMdernlion when tho ma Her of Customs Tariff Uecomes before Parliament." The matter of arranging the date of tli? niuiual meeting was left in the hands of tho president and secretary.
